VANCOUVER HARBOUR FLIGHT CENTRE BACKGROUNDER

  • Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre (VHFC) is a partnership between the Clarke Group of Companies and The Ledcor Group of Companies
  • The privately funded $22 million harbour development will include new seaplane docks and terminal facilities
  • VHFC waterlot development includes approximately 18 seaplane slips, or 360 linear metres of seaplane docks
  • The seaplane docks will be constructed with the world’s leading SEAFLEX® mooring system, which accommodates the most sensitive ecosystems, and has the ability to withstand hurricane strength winds. The docks will also feature a concrete designed level surface with minimal bridges and ramps, and no unsightly pilings.
  • VHFC seaplane terminal facilities occupy 1000 square metres of the Vancouver Convention Center (3500 level)
  • VHFC waterlot facilities operate under a lease agreement with BC Pavilion Corporation
  • The development will include the construction of an elevator tower for shore side access and for the provision of service utilities and pedestrian ramps
  • MCMP Architects and WorleyParsons Engineers are the lead consultants for the design and engineering of the project
  • VHFC will own and operate the new seaplane terminal
  • VHFC is scheduled to open in Spring 2011
